Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In San Francisco, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Francisco is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

When I came in, I was blasted with a feeling of comforting vibes, for a homey sit down meal. I was unsure what to order, and the kind waiter helped me chose. I chose the combination pho, ($18), and it came out very quickly, less than a 10 minute wait. The food was delicious, a typical pho, with bean spourts, Thai basil, lemon, and jalapeno as "toppings". The interior utilizes darker colors, with tawny walls and deep wooden tables and chairs. When you come in, just chose a table and sit down! A lot of 4 seat tables, but if you have more or less, they are able to accomdate that for you. The service was very kind and efficient. The paying system at this restaurant was a bit different compared to others I've visited, after you finish your meal, you go up to the register to pay for your meal (instead of the traditional method where they come to your table and hand you the bill). There was not a option for tip, which is extremely shocking and almost blasphemous in America. The server just handed me a receipt of what I had eaten, and didn't include any automatic gratuity or pressure customers into tipping. There was no annoying tip option on the screen, just pay for what you ate. (Card

Good Vietnamese food, humble surroundings. Fresh Spring Rolls, spot on and tasty.

Very disappointing experience. I ordered the chicken curry and the soup was warm, but the chicken inside was literally cold. It felt like the kitchen just took a piece of refrigerated chicken and dropped it into the curry without bothering to reheat it properly. Biting into cold chicken in a supposedly hot dish was extremely unpleasant. To make it worse, the dish came with a whole chicken leg with skin instead of properly cut pieces. It was awkward to eat and the texture was terrible, especially since the meat inside was still cold. For a simple dish like chicken curry, serving cold chicken in soup is really unacceptable. This felt careless and poorly prepared. And the service is like none. Definitely wonβt go again.

Very good pho. Flavorful broth and large chunks of meat (I ordered tendon and it was full or large chunks). Noodles were qiu-qiu and service was warm and friendly. The spring rolls were good but I think they could have had a little more flavor to it. Took a little bit of time to get our order in because I think they do quite a bit of takeout and delivery but all in all, was a good experience and good pho.

Really good Vietnamese food with extensive menu. I like that their veggies include fresh mint. While waiting for my to go order by the door, the female staff gave me a cup of hot tea. That was really nice of her. The tea was very fragrant like pandan tea served in Vietnam. Dining area is pretty big. Plenty of 4 person dining and big group dining tables. One con is parking. Very hard to find parking in the mission and residential area. Went on weekday afternoon took about 15 mins circling around. Otherwise, I think this is a good go-to spot for Vietnamese food in SF.
